What is an eSIM?

A SIM card, without the card.

An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a small chip inside your phone or tablet that can store a mobile plan digitally. There is nothing to post, cut, or swap at a kiosk.

You download a profile from your provider, and your device connects to local networks just like it would with a physical SIM, often with more flexibility when you travel.

How it works in practice

When you buy a travel data plan from Keep On Roaming, we issue a digital profile. Your phone installs that profile as a second line (or primary line, if you choose).

You can keep your usual number on your home SIM for messages or calls, and route mobile data through your eSIM while you are away, ideal for maps, chat apps, and email.

Why people choose an eSIM

Ready before you land

Buy and install before you fly, then switch on data when you arrive, no queuing for a local SIM at the airport.

Less to lose or damage

There is no tiny card to drop on the tarmac or misplace in a hotel safe.

Easier plan changes

Many devices support multiple profiles, so you can add a new trip without posting a new card.
